If you can't see the Sciwheel Google Docs add-on, or the add-ons menu it's likely the document is opened in.docx format rather than Google Docs format. You'll be able to see this in the doc - it will have .docx next to the document title. To fix this, you just need to click the File menu and choose Save as Google Docs, then the add-ons menu should appear again:
