There is a difference in the way that our new Word add-in and Google Docs add-on work compared to the original Word plugin - your citations and bibliography won’t be formatted automatically, so even if you've just formatted, new citations you insert won't be formatted or added to the bibliography automatically. We recommend only formatting every so often when you have a few citations inserted.
